Small Employer Long Term Care Insurance Changes Focus of Workshop

Significant changes to long term care insurance policies available to the small employer market will be the focus of a special American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance webinar.

Los Angeles, CA, August 10, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Changes to long term care insurance policies that will significantly impact the small employer market will be the focus of a nationally broadcast webinar by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.

"Small business owners have benefitted from significant benefits when they purchase long term care insurance for owners and key employees," explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the long term care insurance industry trade group. "There are changes taking place that some experts note will significantly change these benefits which is something that needs exploring."

To educate insurance professionals to important changes impacting long term care insurance, the Association has scheduled a webinar for August 14, 2013. "We are going to explore the impact of sex distinct rates recently introduced by several leading long term care insurers," Slome notes. "Single women may find themselves paying 50 percent more than single men. There are reasons for this difference and we want to educate professionals in ways to explain the differential to their clients and prospects."

The workshop presentation will feature Claude Thau, a leading long term care insurance expert. "Claude is an actuary and has been a senior executive with a leading long term care insurer and I can't think of anyone with better expertise to analyze what's taking place and what insurance agents need to understand about the immediate and future impact," Slome adds.
