Beyond Bullies’ Back to School Event for Students 8-14 Featuring Krav Maga Self-Defense Trainers Equips Youth with Tools and Confidence

Real help is available at this back to school event from bullying experts and self-defense trainers. Krav Maga Worldwide trainers will demonstrate verbal and physical anti-bullying skills to help empower youth as they go back to school.

Los Angeles, CA, September 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The start of school can be a nightmare for bullied children. It can also be tough for children who standout from other students.

“When teachers or other adults believe that bullying is a rite of passage and choose to ignore it, there is a greater chance, children will be exposed to bullying without any consequences,” said Melissa Sherman, executive director of Beyond Bullies. “Most children have not been shown how to prevent or handle bullying and in many cases do not have the coping skills to deal with it,” Sherman says.

Beyond Bullies is partnering with Krav Maga Worldwide to meet the needs of families and children. The director of the km-X™ kids program, Matt Ramond says, “I believe that it's important for kids to understand that they actually do have the power to stand up to bullies, whether it's for themselves or their friends. With a little guidance and encouragement, every child can gain the confidence and skills to assert themselves in an appropriate manner.”

This event will give kids the basic tools to begin this process. The event is Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Krav Maga located at 15060 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, CA. The event will begin at 2:15 p.m. and end with free refreshments at 3:45 p.m. Spots are limited. The first twenty-five people to RSVP will be able to attend at beyondbulliesrsvp@gmail.com.

Beyond Bullies is dedicated to helping youth who have become the targets of bullying and cyber bullying, by providing them online real-time support from E-teen leaders, viral campaigns to engage youth to take action and prevention/educational programs to create awareness to stop it.
