IDS Unveils 50-Foot Social Media Wall at U.S. Open Featuring Content from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

Top Tennis Tournament to Display Real-Time Commentary by Players and Fans

Flushing Meadows, NY, September 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- IDS (Information and Display Systems), a division of SMT (SportsMEDIA Technology), has announced the launch of the U.S. Open Social Wall. The 50-by-8-foot LED display wall, next to Louis Armstrong Stadium, displays real-time commentary, posts and pictures from players and celebrities on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The wall showcases the U.S. Open social conversation by connecting the global audience and live event attendee. Fans can join the conversation by using the tournament’s official hashtag, #usopen, or any of the three partners’ hashtags – Chase #chasereview, Esurance #advantage and Xerox #whyilovetennis. Fans also can post on the official usopen.org website.

IDS aggregates, monitors and reviews posts for informative, relevant and exciting content. The feature will continue through the tournament, which concludes on Monday, Sept. 9.

IDS continues to build on its 20-year relationship with United States Tennis Association (USTA), the U.S. Open, broadcasters and other clients.

“We are proud to extend our involvement in the 2013 U.S. Open by offering this unique feature that allows social media followers to have a new platform in expressing their insights,” said Leo Levin, IDS director of product development. “The U.S. Open Social Wall is just one of several services we are providing to our partners the United States Tennis Association (USTA), CBS, ESPN, the Tennis Channel, and Direct TV. It gives us great pleasure to be so deeply devoted to improving the coverage of the Open, a marquee event that utilizes more of our staff than any other championship this year.”
