Samurai Karate Studio Hosts Free Anti-Bullying Workshop

Columbia, SC, September 10, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio, located in Richland Northeast Columbia, South Carolina, announced recently SKS is hosting a Free anti-bullying workshop on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00pm. The workshop will cover non-violent strategies to help children stand up against bullies.

"It's estimated that over one third of school children are bullied by the time they reach high school," commented Feldt, "and I believe that number is way understated because many kids feel helpless and don't tell anyone they are being bullied."

The workshop will focus on the types of bullying that occur today in schools, how to recognize bullies, non-violent strategies to stand up against bullies and who to report bullying to.

"I was bullied as a child," commented Feldt, "and one of my missions at Samurai Karate is to help as many children as possible learn how to deal with bullies. We know that fighting is not a viable option, since many times the child being bullied that fights back also gets in trouble."

The workshop is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm and should last approximately 30-45 minutes. The workshop is open to the public, for children 7 years of age or older.

Since opening SKS, Sensei Feldt has successfully taught hundreds of children these anti-bullying strategies.

Please register by texting 803-200-1140 with your name, child's name, age, cell phone number and email address.

The workshop is open to the first 25 children who register.

Samurai Karate Studio teaches a traditional style of karate, with an emphasis on character development and leadership skills, to children and adults, beginning at age 4 years and up.
