)-- Setting their fifth season ablaze, the award-winning Slow Burn Theatre Company will open this Fall with the groundbreaking, feel everything rock musical Next to Normal. Nominated for eleven Tony Awards and winner of three, Next to Normal is just the eighth musical ever to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama – the first since RENT in 1996. With book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, this intense, emotional and ultimately hopeful musical aims right for the heart with the story of a family coming to terms with its past and bravely facing its future.

The cast of Slow Burn Theatre’s Next to Normal includes: Sharyn Peoples (Diana), Bruno Vida (Gabe), Matthew Korinko (Dan), Anne Chamberlain (Natalie), Jason Edelstein (Henry) and Clay Cartland (Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine). The musicians for this production include: Manny Schvartzman (Piano/Conductor), Nick Trotogott (Percussion), Rupert Ziawinski (Bass), Greg Chance (Guitar), Anna Ventura (Violin) and Konstantin Litvinenk (Cello).
The Creative Team for Next to Normal includes: Patrick Fitzwater (Director), Manny Schvartzman (Music Director), Sean McClelland (Scenic Designer), Lance Blank (Lighting Designer), Rich Szczublewski (Sound Designer) and Rick Peña (Costume Designer).
Slow Burn Theatre is an award winning locally based professional theatre group providing South Florida’s diverse population with opportunities to experience high quality, daring, contemporary and intelligent works of musical theatre. Shows are selected that educate and provoke thought as well as entertain.
Next to Normal will run for a total of twelve performances – Eight at the West Boca Performing Arts Theater on the campus of West Boca Raton High School on Glades Road and four at the Aventura Arts & Culture Center in Aventura.
Performances in West Boca are Fridays, October 18, 25 & November 1 at 8pm, Saturdays, October 19, 26 & November 2 at 8pm and Sundays, October 20 & 27 at 2pm
Performances in Aventura are Thursday – Saturday, Nov. 7-9 at 8pm and Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2pm
