Manifestationz Gallery Announces Its October Artist of the Month

Cary, NC, September 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Manifestationz announces Temple University Alumna Shawnna L. Williams as its featured Artist of the Month for October 2013. Williams holds a BFA in Painting from the Tyler School of Art, and her portraits have been commissioned throughout the Tri-State area, as well as overseas in Rome, Italy, during Temple University’s Study Abroad program in 2011. Williams aims to capture the likeness, style, mood and intensity of her subjects, using light, color, and the exploration of different placements of her figures.

Drawing on personal experiences, Williams created "Scars and The Healing Process," a series that shows the physical and emotional scars Williams endured throughout her lifetime. She shows the progression through self-portraits on canvas. With any series that she creates, Williams sets out to identify with the common man, and allow her viewers to be humbled by the strengths and triumphs of mankind.
