Rollins MBA Awards Fall 2013 “Gene Apelado Scholarship” Winner

Winter Park, FL, September 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Crummer Graduate School of Business awarded Gabriela Chassagne a “Gene Apelado Scholarship” to subsidize her continued study of sustainable development. Ms. Chassagne plans to use the money to travel to Bogota, Colombia in October with a class studying doing business in emerging markets.

The scholarship was made possible by a generous donation from Gene Apelado, the President of AMAG, LLC, a prominent Internet marketing firm headquartered in Orlando. This scholarship is fully funded for five years and is used to enhance the school’s mission of offering its students experiential learning opportunities abroad.

Ms. Chassagne graduated from Rollins College with a degree in International Relations and a minor in Sustainable Development of the Environment. She completed the school’s 3-2 program, which allows a handful of exceptional students the opportunity to begin an MBA in lieu of what would have been their senior year. As an undergrad she traveled throughout Central America, but this will be her first trip to Colombia.

“I feel very fortunate to be a Gene Apelado Scholarship award recipient and get the opportunity to visit and study in Colombia,” said Ms. Chassagne. “Colombia is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and can offer the rest of South America a blueprint for sustainable growth. I’m eager to see what the country’s plans are to continue to grow.”

“This kind of experiential learning will be an important part of my Rollins MBA,” added Chassagne.

All Rollins MBA students have multiple opportunities to travel abroad while they are enrolled. And the school offers free courses for life to all graduates, so many students have taken courses with a travel component even after earning their MBA. Rollins MBA courses with international travel components have recently brought students to Argentina, Austria, Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Vietnam.
