Black Comedy "The Clown's Handbag" Free on Kindle for a Promotional Period

His life’s work, Heatley used his early experiences of working in a nursing home to capture a unique angle on the subject, resulting in some darkly humorous anecdotes.

The novel is set in South London during the recession of 1980, a period that the author experienced first-hand having grown up in London and having lived there for his whole life. The story centers on main character Carol and her new job at a nursing home in which mysterious happenings are occurring. This leads her to meet fellow cleaner Paul, the focus of which being on their friendship and the discoveries that Carol makes about him.
