TAG Awarded $22.345M Contract by U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) for AN/GSN-13 Replacement System

U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) selects TAG to Provide Precision Military GPS Survey Systems for Direct Geospatial Support of Land Operations.

Dulles, VA, September 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Technology Advancement Group®, Inc. (TAG®) announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) to provide a Precise Positioning Service (PPS) Global Positioning System Survey (GPS-S) System for use by survey and design teams to perform precision surveys. The currently fielded AN/GSN-13 GPS survey system has become obsolete and is not supportable. The Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of over $22 million, if all options are exercised.

The U.S. Army Geospatial Center's mission is to coordinate, integrate, and synchronize geospatial information requirements and standards across the Army; to develop and field geospatial enterprise-enabled systems and capabilities to the Army and Department of Defense; and to provide direct geospatial support and products to Warfighters. AGC also provides timely, accurate and relevant geospatial information, capabilities and domain expertise for Army Geospatial Enterprise implementation in support of unified land operations.

Under the contract, TAG will provide PPS GPS-S Systems and program support, including: systems engineering and software development processes relevant to precise surveying; incorporate a military GPS receiver in accordance with DoD policy; integrate communications equipment and other support items and software needed to provide a stand-alone GPS Survey capability; logistics support, testing and validation, training, spare parts, and other documentation necessary to field and support the equipment.

“The TAG PPS GPS-S System will allow AGC and other military customers to have access to centimeter-level GPS survey accuracy while simultaneously enjoying the benefits of a fully-certified embedded military GPS receiver,” said Jim McEwan, TAG’s CEO. “It will deliver full, uncompromising performance at all times without relying upon any potentially unsecure commercial receiver technology.”
