Foothill Ranch, CA, September 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- ehs International, Inc. will present a free training program, “The Active Shooter Threat,” at the Tri-State Seminar in Las Vegas, Nevada at the South Point Hotel on Tuesday September 24, 2013 at 7:30am-11:30am. The hands-on program will provide valuable workplace and personal safety information and skills to members of California Water Environment Association (CWEA), Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA), and Arizona Water Association (AWA). These three groups serve over 11,000 professionals in the water and wastewater industries. Krav Maga of Las Vegas will assist ehs International with the hands- on portion of the program to teach members techniques they can use to take action against a shooter. Media is invited to attend the “Active Shooter Threat” session and speak with the ehs International trainer, John Chadwell, about the topic.

ehs International, Inc., a full-service Environmental, Health, and Safety training and consulting firm, continues to provide proactive and timely courses for water and wastewater industries, community and professional associations. The firm promotes client safety in the workplace and off the job. ehs International hosted a Client Appreciation Day last Friday September 13, 2013 at Artemis Defense Institute (ADI) in Lake Forest, California, which included active shooter simulations and attack scenarios in ADI’s simulator, and self-defense training led by Krav Maga of Orange County. Earlier this month, ehs International provided active shooter awareness training to the Orange County Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).

The threat of an active shooter continues to be real throughout the United States and abroad. With this week's events at the Washington Navy Yard, it only shows that this type of violent and senseless attack can strike at anytime and at any place. In 2010 there were close to 600 workplace homicides in the United States alone. Training on active shooter is essential. This proactive training helps employees to develop the survival mindset and learn methods to help prevent, deter, and survive a hostile situation.
