Enable America Employment Support Programs for Veterans Profiled in Nationwide Television Broadcast

Washington, DC, October 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Enable America, a non-profit working to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities, will be featured this week on “Hiring America,” a television program that highlights employment support for military veterans. The program will debut in a nationwide broadcast this Thursday, October 3, on The Pentagon Channel. It will also air in more than 30 local television markets across the nation over the weekend.

“This opportunity to spread our message and gain recognition for Enable America’s VetConnect employment programs is important, and appreciated,” said Richard Salem, founder and chairman of the organization. “We encourage our supporters to tune in and learn more on what we are doing to help our nation’s most deserving citizens, those who have served in the military.”

Hosted by Gigi Stone, Hiring America is described as “The first TV series dedicated to helping veterans find jobs.” Enable America was selected because of its unique and innovative Career Mentoring Days and Job Skills Workshop programs, both of which are increasingly being used in support of transitioning veterans looking for employment, including those who most recently served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“This year our employment support services have received overwhelming reviews from corporate sponsors, military leadership, and participants. Demand for these programs continues to grow,” said Enable America’s Executive Director Chris Jadick, who was interviewed for the segment. “This opportunity to introduce Enable America to a nationwide audience will open new opportunities for us to contribute, while allowing us to share what we have learned with employers who are looking to strengthen their workforce by hiring military veterans.”

The Hiring America episode will air multiple times on the Pentagon Channel this Thursday, October 3: 2 a.m., 6 a.m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. It will then air this weekend in 32 television markets across the country, including San Francisco, Houston, San Diego, Orlando, and Raleigh. A complete listing of stations and times can be found on the Enable America website www.EnableAmerica.org.

Since 2002, Enable America has worked nationwide to improve employment opportunities, through engagement programs that include Job Skills Workshops, Career Mentoring Days, VetConnect programs for disabled veterans and wounded warriors, as well as Community Connection and Business to Business meetings. These programs build bridges between employers and improve employment opportunities for the more than 56 million Americans with disabilities.

People with disabilities who would like to participate in future Enable America events, as well as companies interested in sponsoring a program at their site, can find out more and register on the group’s website, www.EnableAmerica.org.
