First OpenNebula Conference in Berlin: Successful World Premiere in the Capital City
Berlin celebrated the first ever OpenNebula Conf from September 24th-26th. The hosts NETWAYS and C12G welcomed an international audience from 12 different countries on the open source cloud-computing tool OpenNebula.
Berlin, Germany, October 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- NETWAYS, the open source specialist based in Nuremberg, hosted in collaboration with C12G, the developers behind the successful open source cloud application OpenNebula, the worldwide first OpenNebula Conf in Berlin.
21 experts from companies such as BBC, Akamai and Centos were invited as guest speakers.
Top-class speakers from Femilab and the European Space Agency (esa) also spoke about the application from a scientific perspective.
In addition to the tutorials, hacking sessions, open spaces and lightning talks, the program gave many other opportunities to the attendees.
The conference premiere attracted an international audience due to the worldwide increasing deployment of OpenNebula. The number of downloads and active community members doubled again last year. Since the beginning of the research project in 2005, OpenNebula has become a popular open source solution for data center virtualization. Based on XEN, KVM and VMWare, the cloud platform differs from others by supporting a variety of independent standards. Its focus on interoperability allows a simple integration and high flexibility.
The NETWAYS Event Services GmbH, an organizer with many years of experience, was in charge of the organizational success of this open source event. Alongside the European trend-setting Open Source Monitoring Conference and Open Source Datacenter Conference, many other conferences, a wide range of training programs and trade fair exhibitions compose the service portfolio of the subsidiary company of NETWAYS GmbH.
The first preparations for the second OpenNebula Conf held again in Berlin from December 2nd – 4th, 2014, are already happening.
