The Georgia Diabetes Coalition Successful 2013 Awards Reception with Over 150 Guests

Atlanta, GA, October 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On Thursday October 3rd, 2013 The Georgia Diabetes Coalition (www.GDCToday.org) celebrated another successful annual "Denim & Diamonds" Community Awards Reception with over 150 guests at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. The evening commenced with an energetic pre-reception networking session and photo's with guests arriving in their best pair of Denims and best piece of Diamond or shimmering accessory. Tri-Regional Faith and Community Health Summit attendees retired to the reception to participate in the awards ceremony.

Keynote speaker, former NFL player, Mr. Kendall Simmons was seen being very interactive the guests prior to his inspirational and moving recollection of his journey with Diabetes. Kendall could be seen talking with guests, laughing with guests and taking photos with guests. One of the youngest attendees, high school student of the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology eagerly waited to capture a one on one photo with Kendall, who was honored to be recognized by this young man.

Special Honoree Dr. Guillermo Umpierrez from Grady hospital was supported by dozens of his co-workers who attended and expressed admiration for the doctor. He was recognized for his direct work in the diabetes community.
