John Galvin of Popular Mechanics Magazine Visits Storytellers Campfire for Disaster Preparedness Launch

Popular Mechanics launches its first online learning course for Disaster Prep & Survival. John Galvin contributing editor and disaster expert makes an appearance at Storytellers Campfire to share with their global audience why "preparation is the key to thriving not just surviving a disaster."

Bellevue, WA, October 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Lady Selah SuJuris, Program Director and part-time Host of the popular Global Radio Literacy and Education Program Storytellers Campfire, recently participated in the building of "Go-Bags." "The 'Go-Bag' term was applied to an Emergency Survival Backpack which was part of a disaster relief preparedness program through a private organization. We had a list of supplies we were supposed to add to the bag but I did a little research on my own and I added a few more items. It was a great feeling having a little more knowledge and information and knowing you are more prepared in the event of a disaster. One thing I learned is that not enough people know what to do in the event of a disaster. Therefore, when approached by Popular Mechanics Magazine to assist in their launch I wanted to feature them on the show. That is part of our Mission on the program to educate and help people. Natural disasters are happening on a global scale and people need to be educated and learn how to help themselves and others if they can. Storytellers Campfire is now heard in 59 Countries and 19 Provinces world-wide, we can get information out there to a vast audience through our program."

John Galvin whose articles have been featured in regional and National Magazines and is contributing editor for Popular Mechanics Magazine and is making an appearance at the Campfire on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 8:00 PM Pacific Time. The article "Survive Anything" written by John Galvin featured in the Popular Mechanics April issue covered everything from stocking your pantry, first aid, fuel, FEMA, protection, entertainment for the duration, a little bit of everything you can do to "thrive not just survive a disaster."
