Oceanside Care Center Celebrates National Case Management Week 2013

Oceanside Care Center, a prestigious skilled nursing facility located in Oceanside, New York, is proud to show support of the Case Management Society of America's Ninth Annual Case Management Week celebration from October 13-19th. Health care facilities throughout the country such as managed care organizations and hospitals will be sponsoring local events during the week.

Oceanside, NY, October 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The purpose of this week, according to the CMSA, is to raise awareness of the vital role case managers play in the healthcare environment and in the lives of patients. Case managers are responsible for verifying insurance coverage, educating patients on the options available for them within the perimeters of their coverage and facilitation of transfers and discharges, among other responsibilities.

The work that case managers do often overlaps with the work of social workers, who are more known to the public. Therefore the work of case managers often times goes under-appreciated and unnoticed. In this spirit of gratitude and respect the healthcare world celebrates Case Management Week.

“We’re all very excited for Case Management Week here at Oceanside. Case managers do a fantastic job with our residents, from educating them on their options and helping them get back on their feet, to making them feel comfortable with the decision to stay with us. It is definitely a job that deserves it’s own week, and we extend our support, gratitude and love,” remarked Kellie O'Connor, Admissions Director at Oceanside Care Center.
