Detroit, MI, September 17, 2007 --(PR.com
)-- Here comes success for grassroots production company Greenestuff Inc., producers of the beloved children's program, 'My Bedbugs'. In recent months, Greenestuff Inc. signed deals with Trinity Broadcasting(5/07), Sky Angel(3/07), and LATV(6/07), which brings 'My Bedbugs' to over 100 million homes across the United States and Canada.
'My Bedbugs' made its debut in 2004 on Detroit Public Television. Daniel Alpert, Interim General Manager at WTVS, had this to say about the stations affiliation to the show, “'My Bedbugs' is good television with a heart. We are pleased to air it, associate with it, and help it find a bigger audience across America.” And a larger audience the bugs have found, since the 2004 debut the show has been picked up by hundreds of television stations across the nation.
Another milestone came in May of 2007 when the show inked a deal with TVN, the largest independent Video-on-Demand provider, making 'My Bedbugs' available to cable networks such as AT&T, WOW, and TEVO. My Bedbugs is the brainchild of Alex Greene and Carol Sweeney, a husband and wife team from Michigan and the parents of three. The couple wanted to create a children's program that could make some of the demanding tasks of parenting, such as bedtime, an adventure for children.
In 2002, after years of brainstorming the couple took a leap and with the help of local investors began the production company Greenestuff Inc., whose first mission was to bring their beloved 'My Bedbugs' characters to life.
Toofy, Woozy, and Gooby, are the stars of 'My Bedbugs' and modeled after the couple's own children, even bearing the same nicknames. The live-action trio embark on fun-filled adventures which entertain and educate young children. Greenestuff Inc., has produced 26 30-minute episodes, each focusing on essential childhood lessons such as being patient, sharing, and loosing a tooth.
The Greenestuff team has much to be proud of. Their prized children's show has won several prestigious awards, including the National Parenting Seal of Approval, the iParenting Media Award, the Parent to Parent Adding Wisdom Award, the Dove Family Foundation Seal of Approval, along with 13 Emmys and 12 Tellys. As the show has gained popularity the demand for My Bedbugs merchandise has grown.
Merchandise has expanded to include, plush, educational and interactive toys, CD's, and DVD's. The entire line of 'My Bedbugs' products are available on www.mybedbugsstuff.com. Additionally, 'My Bedbugs' joined the Ty's Toybox family, one of the largest online toy retailers who features properties such as Barney and Dora.
So what’s next for these heartwarming bugs? Production will begin on another exciting season in January 2008. Also, 'My Bedbugs' media is scheduled to debut in Borders and Barnes & Noble bookstores nationwide in October of 2007. Finally, talks with mega retailer Meijer, Inc. are in the works for retail positioning of 'My Bedbugs' merchandise. Keep a look out for My Bedbugs, there is no telling where they will pop up next.
