North American Congress on Latin America Launches a Mobile App for Apple, Android, and Kindle Fire

New York, NY, October 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- This month, the North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA), publisher of a progressive English-language magazine on Latin America, NACLA Report on the Americas, launched a mobile app, available on Apple, Android, and Kindle Fire devices.

For 45 years, NACLA has uncovered the real stories from the Americas, reporting on social, political, and human rights issues that are often overlooked or covered up by the mainstream media. Noam Chomsky has said of the organization, “The outstanding work of NACLA over many years has opened new ways of understanding the realities of the region and responding to the needs and concerns of its population. A resource of enormous value.” With the mobile app, NACLA is embracing new technology to bring its crucial reporting and analysis to a new generation of readers.

The launch of the app coincides with the release of the fall Report on “Chile 40 Years Later: the Politics of Memory and the Memory of Politics.” The app offers the same reliable coverage of the Americas found in the print magazine, but in full color, giving the images new life. Additionally, the app features embedded multimedia, including podcasts and videos, and an RSS feed to the daily blogs and articles from nacla.org, enabling readers to stay up-to-date on the most important news from the region in between issues.

To celebrate the launch of the app, NACLA is offering limited-time discounted subscriptions on one-year digital subscriptions. Use discount code “NACAPP13” on nacla.org to get 4 issues of the Report for just $26 (normally $36). All-access subscriptions, which include print, digital, and 10 years of archival access, are available for $46.

Mobile app subscriptions can also be purchased in the Apple Store, on Google Play, and on Amazon.
