Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics Practice Launches Toy Drive to Celebrate Name Change

North County practice looks to bring “great smiles” to children at Rady Children’s Hospital.

Encinitas, CA, October 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The offices of Drs. William D. Rawlings, Crystal Angelopoulos, Christopher Hydo and Natalie Miller announced today that they’ve rebranded their practice as Great Smiles Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics to emphasize their goal of bringing out the best possible smile for every patient. A significant milestone for a practice that’s been serving North County Coastal communities for over 30 years, Great Smiles is celebrating its new identity by hosting a toy drive aimed at bringing great smiles to the faces of ill children at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.

“This is just a different way for us to brighten the smiles of our community’s youth,” said Dr. Angelopoulos, who specializes in pediatric dentistry at Great Smiles. “As a dual specialty practice that sees patients from when they’re only age one through braces and up until they turn 18, we know how much the little things can impact children from pre-school age up through their teenage years. We’re all about delivering great smiles and usually that means through our dental work, but this is another way to have more great smiles in the community.”

Beginning today, patients, their families and the public are encouraged to deliver new, unwrapped toys during business hours to Great Smiles’ locations in Solana Beach off of Loma Santa Fe Drive or in their Encinitas office on Garden View Road. The toy drive will run until Monday, December 2 with Great Smiles delivering the toys to Rady Children’s Hospital by December 6.

“The courage of the children we see on a daily basis is remarkable, but gifts from donors always brighten their day and lift their spirits,” said Carol Damon-Scherer, Vice President of Development at Rady Children's Hospital Foundation. “The Great Smiles toy drive is well timed as we’re always in need of toys before the holiday season.”

For each toy dropped off, donators will receive a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing for a $50 Target gift card. The winner will be randomly drawn on Tuesday, November 26 and contacted directly, as well as announced on Great Smiles’ Facebook and Twitter pages.

All appropriate, new and unwrapped toys are greatly appreciated, but items especially needed include:
