NetRange and Mediaset Join Forces

Milan, Italy, October 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- NetRange, the leading global, brand independent Smart TV solutions provider, announced today it has signed a long-term contract with R.T.I. Mediaset is the main Italian, private terrestrial television operator. As a result of the partnership, Mediaset Premium Play content will now be available to customers through the Smart-TV portal operated by NetRange. The agreement covers television sets, set-top-boxes, IP-only-boxes and dongles, no matter what operating system is used.

Premium Play, the first on-demand service available on multiple platforms in Italy, is currently available to Mediaset subscribers as a streaming service on Hybrid DTT STB, PC and MAC, iPad and Win 8 tablets, Xbox 360, Smart TV Samsung in conjunction with their linear pay TV-packages. Now, Premium Play will be made more widely available to the Italian market with an app on the NetRange portal home screens. Beginning last week, consumers will be able to purchase a set-top-box that will convert any television set into a Smart TV and gain access to Mediaset Premium Play directly through their TV by using the NetRange-operated portal product.

In addition to the release of the set-top-box last week, Mediaset Premium Play will soon be available on other Smart TV platforms operated by NetRange.
