Educents Recognized as Fastest Growing Company of the Year by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business

Oakland, CA, October 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Today, Educents was recognized as one of the Fastest Growing Companies of the Year in the 10th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business.

More than 1,200 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Fastest Growing Company of the Year. Educents is a finalist in both the Fastest Growing Company of the Year as well as the Best New Company of the Year category.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

“We have always been passionate about women in business, and are so thrilled to be honored with a Stevie Award,” says Kaitlyn Trabucco, co-Founder of Educents. “A big part of our mission is to provide education for other young women to empower them to enter into future leadership positions, and we are honored to be a part of this incredible group of recipients.”

In just 6 short months, Educents has reached over 1 million users on its platform and has saved teachers and families over $500,000 on educational supplies and curriculum. “Being honored with a Stevie award is just another step closer to our goal of providing all educators access to more affordable education. I am so proud of the Educents team. As a startup, we put in long hours and go home exhausted. We couldn’t do this if we didn’t wholeheartedly believe in the mission of this company and its impact on the education sector. I am so proud of the work we are doing and so thankful that our members believe in our mission as much as we do. We couldn’t do this without our amazing customers and our amazing team members that work tirelessly each day,” says co-Founder Kate Whiting.

“For 10 years we have been recognizing the achievements of women in business, and this year’s nominations were the most impressive class the judges have ever reviewed,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards.
