)-- Kirk Bovill joins the stellar cast of Universal and Imagine’s James Brown biopic “Get On Up.”
Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Chadwick Boseman are set to star in the film.
The movie is being directed by Tate Taylor (“The Help”) from a script by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth and Steven Baigelman. Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Jagged Films’ Mick Jagger are producing alongside Victoria Pearman and Erica Huggins. Taylor is also producing via his Wyolah Films, whose John Norris will executive produce.
Recent movie roles include Contraband with Mark Wahlberg, Texas Killing Fields with Jessica Chastain, Chloe Moretz and Sam Worthington and Bending the Rules with Jamie Kennedy.
Bovill has upcoming television roles in Fox’s new hit comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” created by Dan Goor and Michael Shur, and starring Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher, as well as Amazon Studio’s pilot, “Bosch” which stars Titus Welliver. The drama series is based off of the “Harry Bosch” crime novels written by Michael Connelly. The pilot script was written by Michael Connelly and Treme’s co-creator/executive producer Eric Overmyer. Bovill’s role in Bosch is recurring.
In addition, Bovill provides voice and motion acting capture as the whacky coop player Dick in the hit video game Dead Rising 3. The game was created by Capcom and is being published by Microsoft. It will be exclusively available on Microsoft’s Xbox One on November 22nd, 2013.
