Alpha Introduces Powerful Maintenance Management System

Bellingham, WA, November 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Alpha Technologies, worldwide power solutions leader, announces the debut of its XM360 Maintenance Management System to the North American market at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta, GA. The innovative program is designed to extract power supply service data and generate real-time diagnostic reports to save costs and enhance network upgrade planning for the Outside Plant network.

“XM360 is the first full-featured, web-enabled network maintenance management solution for the broadband industry,” said VP of Strategic Platforms, Jim Heidenreich. “With over 595,000 standby power systems in North America approaching their end of useful life, XM360 will be a valuable asset for Outside Plant technicians and network operators alike.”

XM360 delivers a streamlined solution to preventative maintenance management using a three-tiered approach:

1. The windows-based X-Tractor software allows field service personnel to electronically collect critical network information on power supply, transponder and battery inventories.

2. Standardized, certified preventative maintenance reports are generated and uploaded to a secure database.

3. The web-based Executive Reports Suite analyzes information, gives high-level reports on the status of the Outside Plant network and performs a thorough risk analysis, allowing operators to target network infrastructure investments for maximum return.

Using XM360, operators can remotely monitor aging power systems and proactively deploy repair personnel to pre-empt Outside Plant power failures. In addition, the standardized approach holds maintenance technicians and contractors independently accountable for each report.

“Currently, network operators have limited visibility on the outcome of preventative maintenance visits, and the information documented by maintenance technicians is sometimes inaccurate, incomplete and even illegible,” said Heidenreich. “The XM360 platform greatly reduces the margin of error associated with preventative maintenance reports and provides MSO’s the tools to take appropriate replacement action before costly outages occur.”

Live demonstrations of XM360 and other Alpha solutions will be shown in Booth 854 at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, the cable telecommunications engineering show of the year. Cable-Tec hosts 10,000 attendees annually and provides the opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest in cable telecommunications technology, products and services.
