Hungry Ear Coffee House Feeds Hungry Ears and Mouths This Holiday Season

Hungry Ear Coffee House at the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Sandy Springs offers a grand night of wonderful performers, and fabulous seasonal music Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 8 pm.

Sandy Springs, GA, November 07, 2013 --( The Hungry Ear Coffee House features the best in folk, smooth jazz and acoustic music for the holiday season.

December Performers:
Bob Bakert plays acoustic and electric guitars, writes and sings original music and songs as well as carefully selected favorite covers like you not heard before. It has been said he sounds like James Taylor, Nat King Cole, Michael Bublé, Gordon Lightfoot, Diana Krall. His music runs from Americana folk music to progressive jazz.

Godfrey & Guy - With musical selections ranging from Sinatra to Sting, Godfrey and Guy offer a refreshing blend of jazz classics and folk rock. Lori Guy’s vocals are sultry and heartfelt. Tom Godfrey’s guitar playing is understated and elegant, offering just the right amount of support to let Lori’s voice shine. Together, Godfrey and Guy create a musical magic that makes for a memorable evening.

Ashley Harris "Soulful" "Rootsy" and "Whimsical and sparkles with infectious optimism". Her radio-ready melodies are matched with lyrics that encourage and energize. Her music has been described as "A Melting Pot of Contemporary Country, Soft Rock and Inspirational", reflecting Ashley's acoustic/organic musical preferences reminiscent of artists like Amy Grant, Martina McBride, Keith Urban, and Sheryl Crow.

9 String Theory – The finest instrumental music from the around the world finds a fresh new voice in 9 String Theory: the unique musical collaboration of domra virtuoso Angelina Galashenkova-Reed and award-winning classical guitarist John Huston. 9 String Theory performs music of great variety and intense virtuosity, evoking musical traditions both ancient and modern.

Out of The Rain - Ron Hipp & Carol Statella
A duo with a warm, evocative approach to folk music. Ron is an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist/singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. A native of Atlanta, he's been performing both solo and in various band combinations since about the age of 16. Carol has performed in backup orchestras for Joni Mitchell, The Moody Blues, and Brian Wilson, and on numerous studio recordings. Their sound together has been described as warm, eloquent, and vivid. Onstage, Ron and Carol draw audiences in with artful musicality, occasionally inane humor, and absolute focus on inviting the listener into the depths of a song.

Angela Reign's music is a tapestry of country goodness, woven with funkytonk fun, heartbreaking ballads and purposeful anthems. Angela recently awarded Best Female Country Artist of the Year by the Georgia Music Awards, is now realizing her dream, performing for thousands, writing and recording original music, working with amazing musicians and entertaining fans around the world. @angelareignband

Louis Robinson, British singer/songwriter teaches, produces shows and performs in the Atlanta area. In a long career, he has played at every major folk venue in England, including folk clubs and festivals around the British Isles and Europe. He has performed on BBC radio and TV, and his songs have been recorded by artists in the UK and the USA. Reflecting on his body of work from 1966 to the present day folk legend Shawn Phillips described Louis as "one of the most important songwriters of his generation".
