)-- Hong Kong-based LEMed (Leading Edge Medical, Ltd.), the specialist stem cell and laser therapy research and distribution group has announced that Dr. Shimon Slavin has also formally accepted the company’s invitation to take a position on its Science Advisory Board.
Israel’s Dr. Shimon Slavin, is a highly-revered stem cell pioneer who has been at the forefront of advances in cell therapy and immunology. He was one of the first doctors in the world to use cellular therapy treatment on human patients in the early 1990s. He has authored more than 600 scientific publications, written 4 books and has served as a visiting professor at two esteemed US universities, Southwestern University of Dallas at Texas and the University of Minneapolis in Minnesota. Dr. Slavin’s groundbreaking work in oncological cell therapy by post allogeneic stem cell transplantation, donor lymphocyte infusions (DLI) and nonmyeloablative stem cell transplantation (NST) is in use worldwide.
His acceptance of Leading Edge Medical’s invitation to its Science Advisory Board follows swiftly on the heels of that of fellow leading light Dr. Roberto Fernandez Vina and further strengthens the medical expertise the company can deploy when developing new treatments.
Mr. Don Margolis, Managing Director at Leading Edge Medical said, “The good news keeps on coming for LEMed. Dr. Slavin’s acceptance of our invitation represents a solid vote of confidence in the direction we’ve embarked upon both in terms of existing and future treatments and in the progress we’ve already made.”
“By winning the support of both these pre-eminent doctors, we believe we can strengthen the case for further proliferation of these revolutionary medical advances within markets that have, hitherto, expressed baseless reservations,” concluded Mr. Margolis.
