Bumblebee Batteries Announces a Battery Upgrade for Older Honda Hybrid Cars

Portland, OR, November 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- This month marks the release of the MAX-IMA™ batteries by Bumblebee Batteries. Owners of older Honda Insight and Honda Civic hybrids in the continental United States can replace their original factory batteries with the new higher performance battery packs.

Owner of Bumblebee Batteries, Eli Pruett, and Operations Manager, Haley Wigent, are excited to announce the availability of these batteries, which were developed by Eli Pruett himself. For more than ten years, Eli Pruett has repaired and modified Honda hybrid electrical systems, and was recently inspired to develop the MAX-IMA™ to address the unique battery problems that owners of older Honda vehicles were experiencing. Early adopters of hybrid cars would find that their batteries ran out faster than expected, and this created both performance and fuel-efficiency issues.

“Replacing the hybrid battery at the dealer tends to be expensive,” Mr. Pruett says, “and the aftermarket suppliers who sell refurbished or repaired batteries are a hit-or-miss proposition for customers in terms of reliability, quality, and customer service.”

The MAX-IMA™ batteries have undergone rigorous testing and quality control to ensure that Honda Hybrid owners receive a product that is safe, and offers better-than-new performance. Eli Pruett says that the response from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, in part due to the dedicated Honda Hybrid community which values being able to get the most fuel economy possible out of their vehicles.

Mr. Pruett explained, “Many owners of used Honda hybrid cars, particularly the Honda Insight and Honda Civic Hybrid, are avid enthusiasts who actively discuss everything about them in web forums. There are Honda Insight events and socials, owner’s days and friendly competitions for highest fuel economy.”

After an exhaustive testing of the new batteries, MAX-IMA™ is finally available to ship to the entire continental United States. “We hear over and over from customers that the MAX-IMA™ is like getting a new car,” says company owner Eli Pruett. “We’re very excited to now be able to make them available at a national level.”
