About Palazzo Sant’Elia

The Palazzo Sant’elia building has been derived from a preexisting sixteenth and seventeenth century building. After being used in many different ways over the years, in 1984 it was purchased by the provincial administration. Restoration began in 2000 and put an end to the neglect of the historic stately home. Currently, the Sant'elia building has regained new dignity thanks to a new and prestigious destination museum for temporary exhibitions of art, which opened in April 2007 with the exhibition "L'Ermitage Tsar Nicholas I.
