REP Lab Sports Performance director and Rebound Physical Therapy PT Jay Dicharry, PT, SCS presented to the Pain Society of Oregon, a chapter of the Western Pain Society on Solving the Mystery of Athletics: Strategies for Sustaining an Injury Free Career.

Bend, OR, November 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- REP Lab Sports Performance and Athlete Development director Jay Dicharry, PT, SCS presented to the Pain Society of Oregon, a chapter of the Western Pain Society on strategies for sustaining an injury-free career in sports and athletics.

Athletes perform repetitive tasks over and over again. If clinicians understand the causative biomechanics that drive these chronic injuries, they can stop addressing symptoms, and start fixing the imbalances at the source. While this talk focused around athletes, the strategies outlined we designed to help identify limiters in the non-athlete population as well.

The presentation on sports pain management was geared towards Acupuncturists, Dentists, Chiropractic Physicians, Massage Therapists, Naturopathic Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Psychologists, Social Workers, and allied health care providers involved in pain treatment.

The learning objectives of this course included: Defining the stresses on bones and soft tissues that drive chronic injury patterns, identifying the deficits in a patient’s mobility/stability, and demonstrating success in fixing biomechanical imbalances to prevent chronic symptoms.
