Myrtle Beach, SC, November 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- For 25 years the NGA Tour has been a leader in providing opportunities for professional golfers at the developmental tour level and those opportunities continue to grow with the announcement of a partnership between the NGA Tour, Brown Golf Management and the Hilton Head Island-based Hurricane Pro Golf Tour to create the new “NGA Hurricane Cup at Foxfire,” a Ryder Cup styled team competition pitting the top 6 members from the NGA Carolina Winter Series against the top 6 members of the Hurricane Pro Golf Tour. The event will take place May 15th and 16th, 2014 at the Country Club of Whispering Pines and the Foxfire Golf Resort near the Village of Pinehurst, N.C.

The “NGA Hurricane Cup at Fox Fire” will include lodging, meals, uniforms, and equipment for all players who qualify into the inaugural event and there will be no entry fees for qualifying players. Every participant is guaranteed to make substantial earnings for the two day tournament as well with $1,500 going to each member of the winning team and $1,000 going to each member of the losing team.

“We are always looking for new opportunities and new ways to benefit the most players possible at our developmental tour level,” stated NGA Tour President Robin L. Waters, “and we feel this opportunity, presented by Brown Golf Management and the Hurricane Pro Golf Tour, will only help to enhance the experiences and financial gains that can be achieved by our professionals. The NGA Hurricane Cup will be a nice reward for the players at the top of both the NGA Carolina Winter Series and the Hurricane Pro Golf Tour and we look forward to working with Todd and his staff in making this a top notch event.”

As part of the event week, the NGA Tour will host a regular 2 day 36-hole NGA Carolina Summer Series event on Tuesday and Wednesday May 13-14, 2014 at the Fox Fire Resort.
