South Pasadena, CA, December 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The X-Treme XMB-400 Electric Mobility Scooters has been made available for seniors and others needing a lightweight and compact electric medical scooter. This model is the first true mobility scooter to be introduced into inventory by online motorized scooter and bike dealer, UrbanScooters.com.

“X-Treme's XMB-400 Elite packs a lot of punch for a lightweight mobility scooter,” said Frank Minero, president of UrbanScooters.com.

Powered by a 180 watt electric motor, the XMB-400 Elite Electric Mobility Scooter is controlled by a variable speed throttle with a thumb controlled high/low speed knob. No brake lever is needed, as the electric, regenerative-release throttle automatically engages the brake whenever the rider eases off on the throttle.

Completely street legal everywhere, the X-Treme XMB-400 Elite can attain top speeds of 4 mph going forward, and 2 mph in reverse. It can carry a rider 10 miles on a single charge, and when it comes time to recharge the two 12 volt, 12 amp batteries, the included smart charger can get a rider back on the road in a little over four hours.

What's more, the XMB-400 can handle a 15 percent incline, and the solid rubber 2.5” x 8” wheels assure good traction on cement or asphalt surfaces.

Rider comfort was considered a high priority in the design of the XMB-400 electric scooter. The well cushioned soft shelf style seat is fully adjustable, and comes with a padded back and arm rests that can be easily folded down for storage and transport.

To make shopping trips easier, this model comes standard with a front mounted basket, which is not only sturdy and strong, but can also be removed easily for transport and storage.

Coming in at just 97 lbs. with the battery pack installed, the XMB-400 Elite Electric Mobility Scooter can be easily lifted for transport by removing the instant release battery pack, saving 22 lbs. The scooter can handle riders up to 265 lbs.

Other features include a horn, headlight and rear red backup lights, a backup alert which beeps when its put into reverse, a keyed ignition switch, and a digital sealed and weatherproof controller.
