Citrin Cooperman Philadelphia Director Named to Nonprofit Board

Michael Zyborowicz will serve as treasurer of the Legal Clinic for the Disabled board of directors.

Philadelphia, PA, December 13, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Michael Zyborowicz, CPA, a director in Citrin Cooperman’s Philadelphia office, has been elected treasurer of the board of directors for the Legal Clinic for the Disabled.

The Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization provides free, high-quality legal services to low-income people with physical disabilities and to the deaf and hard of hearing in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania.

The Legal Clinic for the Disabled offers a variety of legal services that help clients overcome legal problems and continue to live safely and independently in the community. Staff attorneys and volunteers devote countless hours to such issues as helping people facing foreclosure stay in their homes, helping to protect victims of domestic violence from their abusers and assisting parents of disabled children in fighting for access to high-quality healthcare.

“The Legal Clinic for the Disabled is an outstanding organization with a long history of helping people facing significant legal challenges,” said Zyborowicz. “I am honored to be an active part of a group that serves as a vital resource for people when they need it most.”

In addition to supporting the greater-Philadelphia community through LCD, Zyborowicz has been a member of Back on My Feet, a nonprofit organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of those experiencing homelessness by engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem. He also is a supporter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and a board member of Playworks, a national nonprofit that supports learning by providing safe, healthy and inclusive play and physical activity to schools.

With more than a decade of accounting experience, Zyborowicz provides clients with general audit and business consulting services, as well as guidance on internal controls matters, financial statements preparation, and benchmarking. He lives in Philadelphia and joined Citrin Cooperman after graduating from Syracuse University, where he earned a B.S. in accounting.
