I’m Not a Monster Spearheads Nationwide Donation Drive to Benefit Homeless Pets

A Group of Rescued Dogs Paying It Forward, Collecting Toys, Blankets & Treats for Animals in 50 Shelters and Rescue Groups across the Country.

New York, NY, December 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- As we enter the holiday season, I'm Not a Monster asks the communities to join a worthwhile cause: “Monster” Holiday Drive™ campaign—a nationwide annual shelter drive benefiting homeless pets waiting in shelters and temporary boarding facilities.

The “Monster” Holiday Drive is in its second year and is entirely volunteer-driven. “We have 34 'Monster' Elves supporting 50 shelters and rescues. That’s more than 250,000 caring, passionate animal lovers and advocates on social media, making this year's drive bigger than ever,” states Imelda Suriato, Founder of I’m Not a Monster. “Last year we collected $20,000 in donations. Our goal this year is $40,000.”

“This is something that hasn’t been done before by animal welfare organizations on a nationwide scale such as this. Our goal is for this to be the Toys for Tots for animals in need, uniting the local communities in a common cause and shining a light on the plight of shelter animals across the U.S.”

Community members are invited to join and they can set up collection drives to benefit a local shelter or rescue group of their choice. To help as many homeless as possible, “Monster” Elves are enlisted—including Elle the Pit Bull, 2013 American Humane Association’s Hero Dog Winner—to organize drives benefitting their communities’ animal shelters and pet-rescue organizations. Shelters are experiencing greater need than ever before but this drive can make a huge difference this holiday season. “Being in a shelter is not fun for any pet. Together, we can make a difference in their world while they wait for their forever homes.”
