Proceq Sets New Benchmark for Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity and Pulse Echo Testing

Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) testing of concrete is based on the pulse velocity method to provide information on the uniformity of concrete, cavities, cracks and defects. The pulse velocity in a material depends on its density and its elastic properties which in turn are related to the quality and the compressive strength of the concrete. It is therefore possible to obtain information about the properties of components by sonic investigations.

Singapore, Singapore, December 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- With the launch of the Pundit PL-200 and PL-200PE, Proceq introduces best-in-class non-destructive testing instruments for assessing the quality of concrete and other materials such as rock, wood and ceramics. The Pundit PL-200 and PL-200PE are the first instruments using a new generation and design-protected Touchscreen Unit. Specially designed to be used on-site in harsh environments, the new products convince with a comprehensive range of applications and improved measurement modes.

New Pundit Touchscreen
Pundit is an industry standard and widely recognized as the first commercial portable instrument for ultrasonic pulse velocity testing of concrete, rock, wood and ceramics. The Pundit PL-200 and PL-200PE continue the illustrious Pundit tradition and set the example for industry standards using a new generation and design-protected Touchscreen Unit. The Unit’s screen features the highest resolution and sharpest image of any comparable product available in the market. This coupled with a powerful dual-core processor allows the best possible analysis of the measured waveforms. Typically, up to 100’000 A-Scans can be stored on the device. Furthermore, advanced ultrasonic products currently being developed will be directly compatible, extending the application range and making the Pundit Touchscreen a sound future proof investment.

Pundit PL-200 – The new Benchmark for Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Testing
In comparison with the existing Pundit Lab(+), the Pundit PL-200 provides an extended range of measurement modes and superior features for on-site testing: Assessing the concrete uniformity using standard A-Scans and the new Line Scan functionality, estimating the compressive strength of concrete or measuring the surface velocity and the depth of perpendicular cracks. The intelligent software supports directly accessible settings in real time from the measuring screen and allows multiple trigger modes and zoom functionality to permit precise determination of the transmission time. Proceq offers an extensive range of transducers for the Pundit PL-200 providing highest accuracy and a proven field track record.

Pundit PL-200PE – Groundbreaking Ultrasonic Pulse Echo Testing
The Pundit PL-200PE employs state-of-the-art pulse echo technology to extend the ultrasonic application to objects where access is restricted to a single side. The measurement process is greatly assisted by Proceq innovations such as advanced echo tracking and automatic estimation of Pulse Velocity. The A-Scan Mode allows direct analysis of the raw signal and the real-time B-Scan Mode provides a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the scanning surface. This allows the user to determine the slab thickness and to localize subsurface deformities such as voids, pipes, delaminations and honeycombing. Control buttons and optical feedback directly on the probe increase measurement efficiency and make to instrument even more user-friendly.

Expert Ultrasonic Training for Pundit PL-200 Pulse Echo customers
Testing with the Pulse Echo technology requires in-depth knowledge of the test object and application characteristics and their influences on the test results. Proceq offers comprehensive ultrasonic training seminars imparting this knowledge as well as all functionalities and features of the Pundit instruments.
