Project Connection Australia Wins NECA 2007 Domestic Resident Award

Project Connection Australia won the 2007 NSW NECA Domestic Award for its work, over four years, on a residence in Sydney – creating a stunning and extremely smart house.

Sydney, Australia, September 26, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Project Connection Australia of Sydney was part of a select group of winners at this year’s NSW Excellence Awards of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) held at Star City last week.

The NECA Excellence Awards are Australia's most prestigious showcase of electrical contractors’ work carried out over the past year. Project Connection now goes on to the final round of judging for national recognition in Melbourne in November.

Project Connection won the 2007 NSW NECA Domestic Award for its work, over four years, on a residence in Sydney – creating a stunning and extremely smart house.

Mark Littlefield of Project Connection said this is no ordinary home. “It could be the most electronically integrated residence ever built.”

A four-year project from planning to completion, this extraordinary home occupies 2100 square metres of living space, 1700 square metres of gardens and has garaging for 11 vehicles.

“This level of electrical integration in this type of residence epitomises what Project Connection is all about – installing more than 100 kilometres of cabling, 11 AMX control touch screens, 21 areas of music, two home theatres, 174 motorised devices, 2000 plus light fittings in 205 areas along with extensive security and communication systems,” said Mr Littlefield.

“This award is a great recognition of our long commitment to the project and our constant focus on getting it right.”

The judges were highly impressed with the projects as outstanding examples of innovation, coordination and maintaining staff enthusiasm and commitment.

Lindsay le Compte, Chief Executive Officer, NECA New South Wales said, “These awards are a unique opportunity for our members to receive recognition of their outstanding projects from peers, the industry, clients and the wider community.”

With the ever-increasing challenges and widening scope of the work undertaken by our members, quality and occupational health and safety have never been more important.”

The strictest standards are imposed throughout judging. Project Connection Australia submitted an outstanding project, carried out to high standards, making the best use of new technologies with professional attitudes right through – it is a real credit to the electrical and communications industry,” he said.
