CIBS Announces FIT Scholarship Winner & Successful Holiday Ball

The Cosmetic Industry Buyers and Suppliers orgranization (CIBS) held two successful events in December. CIBS is a professional organization that encompasses the entire spectrum of beauty, fragrance and personal care packaging and manufacturing. CIBS holds monthly meetings and other activities to foster networking and business development.

New York, NY, January 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The leading organization for cosmetic industry buyers and suppliers, CIBS, ended the year with two successful events. On Saturday, December 7th the 66th Annual Holiday Ball took place at the New York Hilton Grand Ballroom. CIBS members and their guests enjoyed a festive evening of dining and dancing set in a sparkling blue and white décor.

On December 11th, Vanessa Quiles, of Bayonne, NJ, was the 2013 recipient of the annual Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Scholarship Award. Ms. Quiles is a Junior at FIT and plans to pursue a career in cosmetics/health and beauty packaging design.

Each year the award recognizes an outstanding student at FIT and was presented by the Scholarship Chairperson, Ted Boccuzzi, of Advanced Distribution Systems. Sandra Krasovec, Associate Professor, Packaging Design School of Art and Design at FIT was also present at the awards luncheon.

“I chose package design as my major after a visit to Estee Lauder’s package design department and a summer internship at Revlon. I have learned so much and am looking forward to learning more and creating designs that delight the client,” said Ms. Quiles.

“What a great way to end the year and my tenure as President,” commented outgoing CIBS President Mario Magali. of Elite Packaging. “ The Holiday Ball was a magical night filled with many surprises including door prizes donated by numerous industry sponsors and keepsake photos.“

CIBS is a nonprofit, professional organization, which encompasses the entire packaging spectrum of the fragrance and beauty industry. CIBS provides members with unique social networking opportunities through its monthly meetings, which features prominent guest speakers, and its special events throughout the year. All CIBS committee positions are volunteers and the 2013 Holiday Ball Chairperson was Ukachi Anonyuo, of The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc., and the Co-Chairperson was Betti Ann Catino of World Wide Packaging.

The next CIBS networking luncheon for the beauty industry will take place January 15, 2014 at its new location, OPIA, 130 East 57th Street, in New York City.
