William Peace University Hosts Exchange Students from Qatar University in Continued Educational Relationship

Local Four-Year Baccalaureate Again Welcomes International Students for One-Week Exchange Program.

Raleigh, NC, January 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu) a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced it is hosting 10 students, along with two chaperons, from Qatar University in Doha, Qatar from Monday, January 27, to Monday, February 3, as part of the Off-Campus Educational Opportunities and Student Exchange program.

The students, who are natives of the Middle East, will live in campus residence halls, attend several Marketing and International Business classes, and will make a presentation to the WPU student body. Also throughout the week, the students will visit the Governor's Mansion, tour the WNCN (NBC-17) television studios, ice skate at Winterfest downtown, attend a Carolina Hurricanes game at PNC Arena, and take part in a Super Bowl party on WPU's campus. At least two members of the William Peace University staff will be in attendance at these events to provide assistance as the students experience and learn more about living on campus and working in Wake County.

This is the seventh year that the two universities have conducted the program. In 2012, Qatar University won the International Education Best Practice Award for its student exchange with WPU. During that exchange, five students and one faculty member from William Peace University visited Qatar to help celebrate its “National Day,” which commemorates the country’s establishment and independence.

During spring break, 10 students, along with two faculty members, from William Peace University will visit Qatar.

“William Peace University is excited to continue this award-winning student exchange program with Qatar University,” said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. “We continue to be amazed with these bright and intelligent students who come to stay with us. We love their excitement and passion for learning new things, and we hope they enjoy their time here on campus.”
