Einstein in a Box Announces Partnership with Destination Imagination

Partnership will provide STEM-based, "science is fun" philosophy to more elementary-age students.

Anaheim, CA, February 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Einstein in a Box, a product of Academics in a Box, today announced its partnership with Destination Imagination, a non-profit volunteer-led organization dedicated to teaching students the creative process through STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts and service learning challenges. As part of this partnership, Einstein in a Box will be participating in Destination Imagination’s Global Finals 2014 Innovation Expo, as well as hosting a special Facebook giveaway for Destination Imagination participants.

“Partnering with Destination Imagination is the ideal collaboration for Einstein in a Box because they are the gold standard for young minds to creatively problem solve,” said Elaine Hansen, co-founder of Einstein in a Box. “We believe Destination Imagination aligns perfectly with our core beliefs of presenting science in a fun, hands-on and creative way.”

Einstein in a Box is the brainchild of Hansen and company co-founder, Monica Canavan. Both women have a background in education with private industry experience. They wanted to create something to inspire critical thinking and a genuine love of learning in children, and came up with the idea of a unique monthly subscription box service that also includes online learning and extended activities. Each monthly box guides children through the engineering design process and scientific inquiry. Children also can visit an online portal to learn more about that month’s theme and participate in additional activities.

“Our monthly boxes are similar to what participants experience through Destination Imagination. Kids will investigate, brainstorm, plan, test, build and redesign throughout their projects,” said Canavan. “Our boxes contain everything the child needs to complete the activities, experiments and design challenge. Not only will kids have fun and be eager to learn more with each Einstein in a Box, they can engage their imaginations and apply critical thinking to achieve their desired outcome.”

To celebrate the partnership, Einstein in a Box is hosting an exclusive Facebook giveaway for Destination Imagination participants. For liking Einstein in a Box’s Facebook page, each participant will be entered into a drawing to win a free, one-month subscription to Einstein in a Box (a $27 value). The giveaway will be held Monday, February 10-Saturday, February 15. Destination Imagination participants can learn more by visiting www.Facebook.com/EinsteininaBox.
