U.S. Senate Candidate Ken Cope Offers 4-Point Jobs Plan to Spur U.S. Economy

Ken Cope, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, unveiled the 4 key elements in his Jobs Plan to spur job-creating economic growth by stopping the federal government from standing in the way.

Midlothian, TX, February 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Getting government out of the way of the private sector is key to driving growth and creating more jobs, Ken Cope, candidate for U.S. Senate, said today as he detailed the four fundamental elements of his plan to revive the nation's economy.

Cope, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and successful business executive, is challenging incumbent Sen. Cornyn in the March 4 Republican primary.

"Things may look bad for our country right now, but America is far from finished," Cope said. "Strong leadership can fix our country's problems. That is why in my campaign I have done more than just criticize Sen. Cornyn and Washington.

"I have put forth thoughtful solutions to this country's problems. That is the leadership that Texans have the right to expect in their U.S. Senator, and today I'm proposing what I call the Ken Cope Jobs Plan."

Cope noted that the most important element in his Jobs Plan is the repeal of Obamacare, which has weighed down the economy ever since its passage in 2010.

"Obamacare must go. In its place, I have proposed a free market alternative that could start to repair the damage that the horribly designed Affordable Care Act has done to our economy. While the President plays politics, we must remain focused on repairing what the Democrats and our weak Republican leadership have wrought," Cope said.

The other elements of the Ken Cope Jobs Plan are:
•Scaling back the reams of over-intrusive regulations that do little more than hold businesses back, and trimming the power of agencies such as the EPA and the departments of Energy and Labor.
•A total revamp of the tax system, via the 503 Plan that Cope announced in January, that eliminates all income tax filing and the IRS, and provides businesses with a fair, predictable, and no-deductions three percent corporate tax on gross revenues over $2 million annually.
•A comprehensive housecleaning of all government jobs programs, eliminating overlap, waste, and any program that can't prove it delivers unequivocal benefits for participants.

The Ken Cope Jobs Plan, Cope said, is based on the free market principles that he emphasized are the only proven path to economic growth and individual prosperity. He said his Jobs Plan would help bring America's business capital home and encourage manufacturing insourcing in America rather than outsourcing to other countries.

Cope emphasized that unlike Sen. Cornyn and most other elected officials in Washington, he has worked successfully in the private sector. "From my career in the aerospace industry, I know the creative, forceful power of American businesses, and how this economy would grow if it was properly unleashed," he said. "My jobs plan is designed to set that power free, spurring growth that would open up millions of job opportunities."
