Raleigh, NC, February 28, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Alfred Leach, president at MMI Public Relations, a public relations firm based in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region, has partnered with DocuTAP, a leading provider of integrated Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and practice management technology for urgent care practices nationwide, to more fully communicate its service offerings to customers and the health care industry. DocuTAP recently secured $11.9 million in Series B funding from global venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) and Bluff Point Associates (BPA) to increase its market share, accelerate sales and bolster its technology.
In order to support DocuTAP’s business and branding objectives, MMI will employ both traditional and emerging forms of marketing and communications services to expand DocuTAP’s industry and public presence. Strategic efforts to achieve business and communications objectives include assisting with major company announcements, developing and enhancing its corporate communications efforts, showcasing the integrity and distinction of the company’s digital EMR and practice management solutions, providing trade show support and elevating DocuTAP brand awareness on the national level.
CEO and founder Eric McDonald created DocuTAP in 2000 after he realized the power of wireless services and the future role they would play in delivering health care solutions. DocuTAP works extensively with healthcare providers to fully integrate practice management and EMR functionality into urgent care practice settings. The firm experienced record growth in 2013, expanding from 60 to 150 employees and servicing 650 urgent care practices.
“It is important that we are strategic in our marketing and communications efforts so that urgent care centers have a clear understanding of our services and how we can assist them in making their operations more efficient,” said McDonald. “With the proceeds provided by BVP and BPA, we are able to invest in our branding and partner with MMI in order to take our company to the next level.”
“We are proud to partner with an innovative and pioneer company such as DocuTAP to enhance its presence in the healthcare market, particularly in urgent care,” said Leach. “As DocuTAP continues to grow at a rapid pace, it is important that we execute a branding strategy that appropriately presents the firm as a leader in the healthcare industry.”
