William Peace University Awarded One-Stop Shop Certification for Meetings, Conferences, and Events by ACCED-I

Four-Year Baccalaureate Publicly Recognized by National Organization in Conference and Event Planning.

Raleigh, NC, March 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that it has been officially certified as a One-Stop Shop meeting and events institution by the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I). One-Stop Shop Certification is the industry’s premier resource for defining and identifying conforming campus events. Effective immediately, William Peace University is now recognized for its long-time process of providing a central contact person, single contract and one itemized bill for all services provided by the University.

To become a Certified One-Stop Shop, an institution must apply and undergo a detailed review process by ACCED-I, maintain a history of meeting, event and conference hosting, and feature a website, among other criteria. Once approved for certification, an institution undergoes a review by ACCED-I every two years for recertification.

Having been in the conferencing industry for more than 30 years, William Peace University has supported a variety of guest groups, including the International Esperanto Conference 2013, the filming of a nationally-distributed ESPN commercial, the Wake County Public School System, contestants with the Miss North Carolina Pageant, and the North Carolina Writers’ Network. Each summer, between 7,000 and 10,000 guests reside and meet on campus, in addition to the many admissions and special event visitors during the year.

The University is also a member of the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB), and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and works with these organizations to support local and statewide tourism efforts.

“It is exciting that we are officially recognized in this manner,” said Rebecca Leggett, Director of Visitor Services at William Peace University. “This certification elevates our conference and meeting planning process to a level similar to a conference center or hotel. As a downtown Raleigh venue, this certification attests to our ability to serve a variety of groups, events and logistics with an easy, streamlined approach tailored to each meeting planner’s unique needs and desired outcomes.”
