William Peace University Welcomes National Comedian and Alumna Emily Fortune Feimster for Comedy Show and Reception, April 24

Local Four-Year Baccalaureate Hosts Celebrity and Former Standout Student for Comedy Event on Campus

Raleigh, NC, March 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, is proud to announce that it will host a comedy show by celebrity comedian and Alumna Emily Fortune Feimster on Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Kenan Auditorium. Feimster is best known for her work on E! Network’s Chelsea Lately, where she serves as a writer and commentator on celebrity news and gossip. She was also a semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and has made several comedic appearances on HBO and Comedy Central.

A 2002 Peace graduate, Summa Cum Laude, Feimster was elected Miss Peace by her fellow students and served as the graduate speaker at Commencement. She also performed in the Peace Theatre Company and was the proud recipient of the 2010 Young Alumni Award. Following her time at WPU, Feimster traveled the world, back-packing through Europe, teaching English and learning Spanish in Seville, Spain. She later moved to Los Angeles, California where she became a columnist for Beck/Smith Hollywood, and wrote for media outlets such as the Creators Syndicate, Netscape.com, and the NY Daily News. She was also a member of the famous Groundlings, an improvisational and sketch comedy troupe and school based in Los Angeles.

Feimster’s comedy show at WPU will feature three separate events, consisting of a private student performance from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., a pre-show public reception from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., and a public performance from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. The performances are Rated-R and are not recommended for anyone under the age of 18.
