Chicago, IL, March 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- XonaSoftware, Inc., a leader in IT process automation, today launches Situate 1.7.0. This release adds dozens of new and innovative features such as, “Task Groups,” “Intelligent Load Balancing,” “Dynamic Asset Discovery/Query” and more.

“This is our most significant release since Situate 1.0.,” says Mike Mazzolini, CoFounder of XonaSoftware. “The process of customer driven development continues to guide Situate to be the simplest, most effective and affordable IT automation solution on the market.”

Situate 1.7 Feature Highlights

New in Situate 1.7 are “Task Groups,” which allow some of the most complex workflow behaviors to be modeled in an easy to use, straight-forward way. Task groups enable intelligent load balancing, tighter user security context controls, simple timeout controls and process retry behaviors.

Dynamic Asset policies update asset group configuration automatically by leveraging workflows to perform discovery on infrastructure. Using dynamic asset policies, Situate leverages its own automation to query an entire computational environment to auto-configure asset groups and then execute workflows across those groups.

Installing and configuring Situate gets even simpler with the Connection Doctor that can diagnose connection and security-related problems (such as firewalls, certificate issues, login/password problems) between computational assets. When a networking or security issue arises, Connection Doctor will immediately notify and guide the user to the solution.

Situate 1.7 introduces dependency checking that insures data integrity and allows IT staff to understand what is affected when changes are made in the workflow automation processes. This will prevent changes that can have disastrous outcomes to the organization’s critical processes.
