Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions Recognizes OnX as Winner of First-Ever Arrow ECS Amazing Race Sales Competition

Englewood, CO, October 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) today announced that OnX Enterprise Solutions, Ltd., was the winner of its Arrow ECS Amazing Race sales competition for HP reseller partners similar to the television program “The Amazing Race.” OnX earned the most points during the race, which concluded on Sept. 28.

“Arrow ECS congratulates OnX and each of the participating partners for their outstanding achievements throughout the race,” said Dave Pansen, vice president of Arrow ECS’ HP Group. “We are glad to reward our partners with unique sales competitions such as this to help them grow their business and help our suppliers reach key markets.”

The Arrow ECS Amazing Race program was launched in May 2007. Arrow ECS’ HP partners were challenged to generate the most individual sales from May 1 through July 31 for the chance to participate in a three-day, all-expenses-paid reward trip featuring physical and mental challenges similar to those on “The Amazing Race.”

Systems Technology Associates was invited to participate in the race for generating the most individual sales in the business critical servers category; Agilysys, Inc., in the industry standard server category; Nth Generation Computing, Inc., in the storage category; CompuCom in the software category; and OnX won in the services category, which was based on highest services content ratio. Each reseller partner sent two representatives each to participate as a team with Arrow ECS representatives during the race.

“Our team had a great time participating in this race,” said Ed Vos of OnX. “Our entire company really got into this competition and came together so we could participate in the race. I congratulate my teammates for their terrific performance.”

The race began at the top of the Stratosphere Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas and continued to Los Angeles, Catalina Island and San Francisco. Features of the race included a timed flight challenge in a vertical wind tunnel; Hollywood scavenger hunt; and a race involving both physical and mental challenges across the Golden Gate Bridge. The race ended with a special reception at Bill and Dave’s Patio, the original offices of HP founders Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard at HP's headquarters. The teams were congratulated by Mark Hurd, president and chief executive officer for HP, as well as Pansen and other senior Arrow ECS and HP executives.

“Driving growth in the channel is a strategic focus for HP,” said Adrian Jones, vice president and general manager, Solution Partners Organization – Americas, HP, who was among the senior executives to congratulate the winners. “Arrow ECS’ Amazing Race Contest was a creative and fun way to help HP’s reseller partners focus on, and benefit from, the growth in customers and revenues.”

The Arrow ECS Amazing Race was launched to help expand its HP market share by incenting partners to sell to more end users versus achieving the most sales overall, which is the traditional criteria for sales competitions.

OnX received a 42-inch HP television as a special reward for earning the most points in the race.
