Grant Barra Earns Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) Designation

Chicago, IL, March 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Grant Barra, Managing Partner of Barra & Associates in Illinois has earned the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) professional designation. The LUTCF is conferred only upon those individuals who meet or exceed the exacting qualification standards determined by the two organizations that jointly sponsor the designation, The American College and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).

The designation marks an agent’s long-term commitment to professionalism on behalf of clients, establishes the agent’s competence and business experience, marks a commitment to The American College’s and NAIFA’s Code of Ethics and fosters additional professional development. In addition to the successful completion of five courses within a 10 course curriculum, LUTCF candidates must also complete an ethics course and be a member in good standing of NAIFA.

Conferees are honored from the main stage each year during a general session at the annual NAIFA Convention and Career Conference. Each fall, associations nationwide hold local conferment ceremonies. Since the introduction of the LUTCF designation in 1984, many of the top 1% of Agents in the United States have earned the designation.

Founded in 1890 as the National Association of Life Underwriters, NAIFA is comprised of 850 state and local associations and represents the business interests of 66,000 life and health insurance agents and financial advisors nationwide. Many of NAIFA’s members are NASD-licensed registered representatives or investment advisors. Benefits of membership include legislative and regulatory representation, education and training, and networking opportunities. For more information about NAIFA, visit its Web site at www.naifa.org.
