)-- Today, Academe announced that its president and chief executive officer, Dr. Paul Carringer, will present at the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Conference in Washington DC. Dr. Carringer’s topic, “Working with Reporters: The View from the President's Office,” will include the results of a study designed to help college leaders maximize their use of Facebook, Twitter and other platforms to tell their story in today’s social media driven world. Carringer’s session takes place Monday, April 7 at 12:15 p.m.
“Community college presidents are the chief spokesperson of the institution, and it’s recognized that working with and through the media to advance the organization is an important part of that role,” said Dr. Carringer. “This session will address how this is done successfully through a review of cases on the subject.”
Dr. Carringer’s research includes a literature review of leadership skills for institutional presidents, as well as in-depth case studies of presidents and marketing lead professionals noted for their success. This session will focus on how these successful leaders work with the news media to artfully tell the story of the institution to and through the media, with an emphasis on the strategies, tools, and tactics used.
