Dr. Charles Cooper Achieves Accredited Member Status in the AACD

Dr. Charles Cooper has achieved accredited member status in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Atlanta, GA, April 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- It’s difficult, and it’s life-changing, but Charles Cooper, DMD, can tell you that completing the Accreditation process in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) is worth all of the hard work.

Dr. Cooper has earned Accredited status in the AACD - an accomplishment completed by only 405 dental professionals in the history of the association, showcasing his commitment to excellence in the dental profession.

He reached this achievement after completing a rigorous credentialing process including a written examination, the submission of clinical cases for examination and an oral examination.

Dr. Cooper focuses on functional-appearance related conditions and cosmetic solutions for those patients seeking total oral health. He received a B.A. with honors in Science Education at Mississippi State University in 1982, a Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree at the University Of Mississippi School Of Dentistry in 1986, and participated in the General Practice Residency Program at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1987. While furthering his knowledge of dentistry through hundreds of hours of continuing education classes, he has lectured in not only the dental field but was selected as a presenter at the coveted Georgia Oglethorpe Awards Session, which is Georgia's highest level of recognition for organizational performance excellence.

Dr. Cooper is a member of AACD, the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Georgia Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He has studied at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and participated in several hands on courses with the Esthetic Masters Group. He currently practices at the Atlanta Center of Cosmetic Dentistry beside Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Debra Gray King. The Atlanta Center for Cosmetic Dentistry now has 3 accredited cosmetic dentists, as well as a prosthodontist.

Dr. Cooper is a regular participant in the “Give Back a Smile” Program in which he and his office donate their time and skills to help battered women achieve new smiles. He is a “Lifetime Qualified” member of the Crown Council. Through the Crown Council the office has participated in the Smile for Life Foundation which gives yearly proceeds from in office whitening to be used for humanitarian purposes.

Dr. Cooper enjoys spending time with his family especially in the outdoors. Other interests include golf, tennis, and hunting. He especially enjoys coaching youth football and has done so for 11 years.

The AACD Accreditation process serves to set the standard for excellence in cosmetic dentistry. The process encourages further education, interaction with like-minded colleagues, and the opportunity for professional growth. Accreditation requires dedication to continuing education and responsible patient care.

“We congratulate Dr. Cooper for achieving AACD Accreditation,” said Mr. Nelson Rego, CDT, chairperson for AACD Accreditation. “While the Accreditation process is rigorous, it’s the ultimate display of one’s skills and commitment to the field of cosmetic dentistry.”

Dr. Cooper will join 16 other newly-Accredited dental professionals on stage to receive their recognition and award at AACD 2014 in Orlando April 30 – May 3.
