Asbury Park, NJ, April 12, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Asbury Park’s grinning icon’s saver Bob Crane formed his organization Save Tillie in 1998, after learning that Palace Amusements was going to be demolished due to the partial interior collapse of a ceiling. Save Tillie unsuccessfully fought to preserve the entire landmark. But the group was successful in convincing the authorities to demand that portions of the Palace would be removed, preserved and reused by developers on a new waterfront building as part of alleviation for the loss of the iconic complex. Bob Crane’s story as well as his hopes for the future of Asbury Park’s waterfront will be featured in “Asburied In Time,” a historical documentary to be produced and directed by Bridget Machete.
“Asburied In Time,” a Machete Media Productions first full-length documentary, is about Asbury Park’s legendary history. Film will explore Asbury Park’s life from the early part of twentieth century and the many ways this extraordinary Jersey shore destination continues to be inspirational to many people today.
“Unlike any other beach on the shore, Asbury Park has its own flare, rhythm and heartbeat,” says filmmaker Bridget Machete. “I am excited and happy to meet everyone involved in Asbury Park and make a great film on a well deserving city.”
