Illustrious Speaker Line-Up Announced for Sword Active Risk Global Customer Conference Series

NASA Astronaut Mike Mullane, Olympic Gold Medalist James Cracknell, and Interim Chief Exec of the Institute of Risk Management Jeremy Harrison confirmed to speak.

Washington, DC, April 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sword Active Risk, a supplier of specialist risk management software and services, has announced the guest speakers at the company’s forthcoming Global Customer Conference series, which will include events in London, Washington and Brisbane. Speakers will include double Olympic rowing gold medalist James Cracknell, NASA astronaut Mike Mullane and Jeremy Harrison, Interim Chief Executive of the Institute of Risk Management.

Speaking at the Sword Active Risk Conference in London Mayfair on 5th June, double Olympic gold medalist James Cracknell, OBE, MBE, who has built an impressive career mitigating and managing risk. Now an accomplished broadcaster and regular speaker, athlete, sportsman, adventurer and risk taker, James has a long list of accomplishments. Winner of six rowing world championships, James has used his skills as a world beating athlete to raise huge amounts for charity in a series of high risk activities including rowing the Atlantic and racing across the inhospitable frozen wastes of Antarctica to the South Pole.

Also speaking at the London event will be Jeremy Harrison. As well as being the Interim Chief Executive of the Institute of Risk Management, Jeremy chairs the British Standards Institute (BSI) Risk Management technical committee. He has over 20 years’ experience leading risk management across projects, safety, commercial and corporate business in the railway industry. Most recently, he spent nine years as 'the risk guy' at Network Rail developing the best practice risk approach to the £4.5 billion of projects delivered each year across the rail network. CIR Magazine recently awarded him Risk Personality of the Year 2013.

The US Conference will take place at the Ritz Carlton in Washington DC on 25th/26th June. Speaking at this event will be NASA Mission Specialist Mike Mullane. Having completed three space flights aboard the shuttles Discovery and Atlantis, Mike probably knows risk better than most. As well as being an accomplished astronaut, author, mountain climber and speaker, Mike has completed 134 combat missions in Vietnam, is a qualified USAF flight test engineer and has won many awards and medals including the Air Force Distinguished Flying Cross and Legion of Merit. A published author of four books, as well as one for children, and several DVDs, Mike has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Rainier as well as 35 14,000 feet plus peaks.

The final event in the series will take place at Sofitel, Brisbane on 30th September.
