Career Step Offers Over $450,000 in Scholarships to Utah High School Seniors

Career Step is pleased to announce that it is offering over $450,000 in scholarships to seniors graduating from Utah high schools this year.

Provo, UT, April 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education, is pleased to announce that it is offering over $450,000 in scholarships to seniors graduating from Utah high schools this year. One career training scholarship will be awarded to a student from each of the 149 approved Utah high schools.

“Education is one of the best ways to improve society, economies and, most importantly, individual lives. However, earning a two or four year degree is not a possibility for everyone,” said Steve Tober, Career Step CEO. “At Career Step, our mission is about helping people improve their lives through education. Our new high school scholarship program is designed to help graduating seniors realize that there are other ways to improve their lives through education, even if college is not right for them.”

Career Step’s $450,000+ in scholarship funds will be divided across the schools on the approved Utah high schools list. This list includes 149 public, charter and alternative high schools throughout the state. One scholarship will be awarded per school, and the winning student will receive a free enrollment in the Career Step training program of their choice.

To be eligible, students need only be graduating in 2014. Students can apply by submitting their application and a 200 to 500 word essay on why pursuing additional education after high school is important to them at CareerStep.com/utah-scholarship by May 31, 2014.

“This scholarship program is so exciting because it will improve the individual lives of 149 students and it demonstrates Career Step’s direct investment in our local communities and our state,” said Jerolyn Robertson, Career Step Vice President of Academics. “Students can complete out career training programs in a quarter of the time and for a tenth of the cost of more traditional college education options—which means that this is an investment that will have visible results relatively quickly.”

Career Step programs are offered entirely online, which allows students to study at the pace and on the schedule that fits their individual needs. Courses are focused in the high growth areas of healthcare, technology and administration, and available programs include training for pharmacy technician, computer technician and medical administrative assistant careers, among others.
