Exclusive Online Community for Dog Enthusiasts Launched

Dog Commons, a moderated online community for dog lovers, has launched in beta mode and is now accepting applications for new members.

Lawrence, KS, May 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Now in beta mode, Dog Commons is an exclusive new online community led by dog-health research expert Jackie Bunnell and designed to give dog lovers a safe place to discuss trending issues, share stories and offer support.

Because people tend to be passionate about their pets, pet-related discussions can often become heated, which may alienate pet owners. In order to minimize that possibility and ensure a safe, judgment-free place for members to share personal stories, offer support and learn about the latest trends, membership in Dog Commons is granted only to carefully selected dog enthusiasts who meet specific criteria.

This moderated and curated environment is designed to foster the opportunity for rich, meaningful discussions about topics that true dog enthusiasts are interested in, such as:

· Dog health and safety
· New science and research
· Behavioral insights
· New dog-related opportunities

Content is hosted and curated by Senior Community Manager Jackie Bunnell, a dog-health researcher and member of WIPIN (Women in the Pet Industry Network) with over 16 years of experience in pet-related ethnographic studies. Bunnell focuses on finding the best daily content from around the web and contributes to existing discussions, encouraging the best original content from dog experts who join the community. Conversations grow organically, with the ability for starting sub-group discussions on related matters.

“Having an exclusive dog lover’s community that’s free of noise and free from unmoderated confrontation is an idea very much rooted in the now,” says Bunnell. “Social networking has matured to a point where users should demand a certain a certain level of knowledge and some helpful advice from the groups they join. Dog Commons is free of ads and marketing and will grow organically in whichever direction the users take it.”
