Indico Solutions Announce Release of New Guidelines Development and Dissemination Software Platform

Advanced software as a service, clinical guidelines development platform from Indico Solutions supports IOM compliant processes (systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, external review and more) and includes support for custom websites, mobile apps, EMR/EHR/CDS support as well as traditional publishing.

Chicago, IL, May 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Indico Solutions, with offices in Chicago, Illinois, and Melbourne, Austrailia, announced today the release of its new Platform for development and dissemination of clinical practice guidelines. Integrating key functions into a Software as a Service offering, the Clinical Guideline Platform allows developers to manage systematic evidence reviews, recommendation content management and review tracking in the same environment. Indico balances the narrative thought process with the increased process rigor demanded by recent Institute of Medicine Reports on systematic reviews and trustworthy guideline development. “The days of word processing and spreadsheets are over,” says Chris Wolfkiel, Ph.D., former Director of ACOEM Practice Guidelines, “There’s too much evidence to sift through. Recommendation development and the review process need to be tightly integrated with the systematic review and most importantly, the ability to link high quality evidence and recommendations with clinical decisions.” Configurable to guideline developers’ methodology, the platform is adaptable in addressing IOM standards with evidence grading options and flexible management of evidence assessment and extraction within a guidelines content management system. The SQL based web application allows creation of traditional guidelines and systematic review documents suitable for journal publication and National Guideline Clearinghouse submission and also rapid development of mobile applications, standalone web applications and integration into EMR/EHR, CDS and other web based applications. Central to the platform is the ability to link recommendations to specific ICD9/10, CPT4, NDC codes and SNOMED keywords. While guidelines focused, the platform can be used for any evidence-based deliverable such as appropriate use, technical reports and systematic reviews where a quantitative evidence evaluation is required and version control is important.
